Last Days...

According to the weatherman on TV, today is not only the last day of February, but also the last day of the meterological winter. That is like sweet music to the ears...come on Spring!!!
Today is also the end of an era for me...I am leaving hospice after 14 years. Today is my last day in my current position. It is bittersweet. I love hospice care. It has been such a rewarding specialty for me. For the past 8+ years I've been blessed to work remotely, traveling around the country, sharing my knowledge of hospice with other nurses, aides, and other clinicians. Over the past several months, however, my role has changed to one of primarily virtual interactions. Sitting in front of a computer by myself all day, every day was just not working for me. I was missing the energy of people and truly growing bored...(and thus...snacking all day....). It was affecting my mental health.
In considering a move, I had to think about what is important to me. While I love hospice, I wanted something with a set schedule so I would be able to continue with my health coaching, meaning no nights or weekends. In the hospice/home health world, that is generally not possible. In fact, many nursing roles have some commitment of at least a weekend rotation. Fortunately, I found a role with a perfect schedule, however, in a completely new environment to me. I am so excited to learn something new, refine my skillset and experience a different area of health care.
I will have some time off before starting my new position, time to refresh and renew. I have made an appointment to finish up my spa gift card, and to get my hair done (that's the best part!) Since working from home, I never really bothered to spend $$ on hair, instead coloring and trimming ends myself...so yes, mousy and uneven, often wearing up in a messy bun.
I will miss my coworkers whom I have spent the last 8+ years with. They are a special group and I am so grateful for the memories.
While I had been considering a move for at least 6 months, it wasn't until January that I made it a priority. In doing so, I took a hiatus from health coaching. My mind was elsewhere and I could not be focused on coaching others while I was in such indecision. Now that I have a start day for my new position, I am giving myself some time to get settled in my new role before getting back to coaching and to the podcast! I miss that so much. I hope you will continue to support me once I get back at it.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I truly appreciate it! Stay tuned for more updates.
In good health,
Bobbi
Bobbi, I wish you the best in your new career endeavor, and I hope you so enjoy the next few weeks where you can have ‘Bobbi Time’ and also get back into your health coaching. Best of luck. Your friend, Robin 🩷
